“Extremely knowledgeable and helpful in all matters of concern. Highly recommend this service, as there’s certainly no comparison with NHS GP practice.”

Why a blood count matters this month
September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, and 15 September is World Lymphoma Awareness Day. A quick, simple and painless blood count helps you understand your health now, pick up risks early and avoid problems further down the line.
What your blood says about your health
Life is busy, and your own health is usually the thing that waits. It should not have to. One appointment gives you three things:
- Where you stand today. Your red cells, white cells and platelets show whether you are anaemic, low in iron or quietly fighting something off, and whether the tiredness you have been blaming on work has a measurable reason behind it.
- Risks picked up early. Counts often shift before anyone feels unwell enough to act. Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma develop quietly, which is exactly why this month exists as a prompt to get checked.
- A baseline worth keeping. The same sample covers 24 biochemistry parameters, including kidney function, liver function, bone markers, glucose and cholesterol, so you have numbers to act on now and compare against next year.
You do not need a symptom or a reason to book. Knowing where your numbers sit today is the reason. If something is already worrying you, call us on 01224 515 254 and we will arrange the right appointment for you.
What your check includes
Your appointment is carried out from start to finish by one of our registered nurses, who will take around 45 minutes with you, explain each step as you go and answer anything you want to ask. A written summary follows once your results are back.
Everything in one appointment
- Health and lifestyle questionnaire, gone through with your nurse
- Height, weight, BMI and blood pressure
- Urine dip test
- Blood test: full blood count, ESR, and a 24 parameter biochemistry profile covering kidney function, liver function, bone markers, glucose and cholesterol
- A written summary letter with every result and what it means
Most blood results are available the same day or the next day.

Your appointment
A nurse goes through your history and lifestyle, takes your measurements and blood pressure, does the urine dip and takes your blood sample.
Your results
Your bloods are reported by the laboratory and your summary letter is written once every result is back.
Your summary
Your written summary is sent to you by email, setting out each result and what it means.
Why patients choose ROC Clinics UK
A summary letter, not a raw report
Your bloods are not emailed to you as a raw report. You get a written summary letter that explains what each result means for you.
Results in a day or two, not weeks
Most of the panel is reported the same day or the next day, so you get your results fast and know where you stand while it is still on your mind.
Regulated and inspected
ROC Clinics UK is registered and regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Care Quality Commission.
Is this check for you?
Most people book it to stop wondering. Knowing where you stand is a weight off your mind.
Worth booking if
- You cannot remember the last time you had bloods done
- You have been tired for months and see no change despite resting
- You want a set of numbers to compare against next year

Frequently asked questions
No. It is a health check that includes a full blood count, and a blood count can show changes worth investigating further. It cannot diagnose or exclude blood cancer on its own. What it does give you is a clear picture of your red cells, white cells, platelets and 24 biochemistry markers, explained in writing.

A full blood count and ESR, plus a 24 parameter biochemistry profile: kidney function, liver function, bone markers, glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides, and iron. Your summary explains each group in plain English.
We will confirm this with you when you book. Bring a list of any medication you take, and if you can, wear something with sleeves that roll up easily.
Around 45 minutes for the appointment itself. Parking at Westhill Business Park is free and on site.
Most results are available the same day or the next day. Your written summary is emailed to you once every result is back.
Your summary will say so plainly and set out what we suggest next. That may be a repeat test, a GP consultation, or a further investigation if clinically indicated. Anything beyond the check itself is charged separately, and we will tell you the cost before you agree to it.
The booking is prepaid and non-refundable. It must be made in September; the check itself can be in September or later. If you need the option of a refund, book the same check outside the offer window at the standard price, to our usual cancellation terms.
Routine health screening is not covered by most policies, and this is a self-pay price. If you want to claim, check with your insurer before booking.
