Urodynamics Studies

Aberdeen

Urodynamics studies covers a range of tests looking at how your bladder is working. It allows us to look at how much fluid your bladder can hold and how your muscles are functioning.

At ROC, our testing includes bladder scans, uroflow, pressure flow and cystometry.  These are requested by a clinician as part of assessing urinary incontinence issues.

The most common reasons for testing is to check:

  • Stress incontinence – when your pelvic floor muscles are weak and unable to hold on to urine when the bladder is under pressure (e.g. from coughing or sneezing).
  • Urge incontinence – urine leaks when you have an urge to pass urine or just after.

If you have been requested to have these studies by your clinician, please contact us to discuss information about the procedure and to arrange an appointment for you.

If you would like to have these studies done but have not seen a clinician, please contact us to discuss your options on how to be referred.
