Our Menopause Service at our Aberdeen Clinic is a dedicated, GP-led service designed to provide comprehensive support and care for patients navigating the challenges of menopause. Our goal is to enhance the well-being and quality of life of each individual.

What to expect from a Menopause Assessment at ROC?

We offer menopause consultations either remotely via video or in person.

When attending in person a physical examination including height, weight, blood pressure, breast and gynae examination may take place. We offer packages for women wishing to have consultation, examination, blood tests and gynaecological ultrasound.

Hormonal laboratory testing is usually recommended as well as a gynaecological ultrasound, but these may not be necessary. If you have had testing done elsewhere, please bring along any results or reports you may have to your first appointment.
These tests may be undertaken prior to your first attendance or on the same day. For patients undertaking remote video assessments, blood tests can be arranged through home sample collection kits. An ultrasound may be arranged at one of our clinics or one closer to you.

HRT including testosterone replacement may be prescribed at the first consultation or at a follow up consultation when investigation results will be discussed. Several options may be discussed such as:

We appreciate the importance of individualised healthcare and understand that every individual will require a different management plan. We will take time to understand your concerns, and work with you to create a management plan that suits you. Any potential option offered to you, and its risks and benefits, will be discussed with you and organised safely.
