Professional Profile and Experience

Dr Ajo George is an Occupational Health Doctor at ROC, where he carries out offshore and onshore medicals, health screening and fitness-for-work assessments for workers across the energy sector and wider industry.

Dr George graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, in 2023. He began his career as a resident doctor at Mater Dei Hospital in Malta before moving to Iceland, where he spent two years with the Health Institute of East Iceland providing both general medical care in a rural setting and occupational health services for seafarers, manufacturing and industrial workers.

He joined ROC in 2026. His work covers OEUK offshore medicals, pre-employment assessments, fitness-for-work evaluations and case management for offshore and wind energy workers, alongside HGV and DVLA, seafarer, firearms and travel medicals. He also advises on rehabilitation, return-to-work planning and workplace adjustments, helping employers keep people safe and productive at work.

Dr George holds the Diploma in Occupational Medicine and is a trained Medical Review Officer, accredited by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, for workplace drug and alcohol testing. He is OPITO approved for chest and shoulder breadth measurement, the assessment used to confirm a worker can be safely accommodated in offshore helicopter seating.

Dr George has published reviews in palliative care, dermatology and biomaterials, and contributed to the development of a quality of life questionnaire for the Australasian Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. Alongside English he also speaks Icelandic.
