The specialist Orthopaedic team at our Westhill clinic is continuously growing, reflecting the development of our state of the art Imaging Department and Outpatient facilities. We can now can provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of back, bone and joint conditions.

Our GPs and expert orthopaedic and radiology Consultants can help you to optimise your physical health or manage a new or long standing injury or condition. We have in-person consultations available for shoulder, back, hip, knee, upper and lower limb, foot and ankle problems. Some of our clinicians also have specific experience and interest in sports medicine.

Ultrasound and X-ray facilities are available on site to ensure your Consultant has all the information necessary to make a specific diagnosis and tailor a treatment plan.

Another treatment we offer is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. This involves injection of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets, which can help to heal injured tendons ligaments, muscles and joints. Our specialists take a blood sample and use the platelets from this sample to inject directly into the injured or inflamed tissue and release growth factors that stimulate and increase tissue repair.

The injections can greatly reduce the need for anti-inflammatory medication or strong pain killers and, as the substance is directly from the patient’s own blood, there is no risk of negative reaction.

We also employ Ultrasound-guided injections to provide our doctors with the clearest picture tendon sheaths, joints or bursae, making administering the steroids more accurate than ever before. These steroids drastically decrease inflammation, improve mobility and reduce pain.
